Honoring Life

The Joining of Life mates
Time Held: Marriages are only held during full moons, as any other time is bad luck and may bring ruin to a marriage.

Who Attends: The High Priest (ess) and anyone the couple to be wed chooses to invite. It is very rude to attend without invite.

How its Held: First a grand temple is decorated for such an event, many veils, pearls and nice furniture. The High Priest (ess) is required to be present and wed the couple so that their union is blessed by Mizu-O (Warning: The High Priest (ess) also has the right to veto a wedding before it may begin). The proceedings start with the High Priest (ess) speaking of why these two should be wed, and expressing Mizu-O’s blessing on their marriage. Then an exchanged of commitment symbols (each symbol should be unique to the pairing, these can be rings, necklaces, bracelets, ect.) is made. Next, starting with the bride they both must sing a song written for their lover alone (songs are done in telepathy). After this the merriment begins with a dance, first there is a solo dance between bride and groom, then everyone dances. Food is brought in for all and the celebration lasts until the sun rises- at which time all are dismissed and the newly married couple may leave to consummate their new life together.

Ceremony of Blood
Time Held: The first no moon of homecoming.

Who Attends: All

How its Held: All must wear red on this day to express the blood of the Gods they live in each day. Previously selected people act out the creation of the seas for everyone to watch.

The Sending
Time Held: When some one dies.

Who Attends: The High Priest (ess), Priests and loved ones of the dead.

How its Held: The dead is brought into the Soul Chamber of Mizu-O’s Temple which is undersea. Here it is placed in the Altar of the Dead. The priests surround the body with the High Priest (ess) at the dead one’s head. Those who loved the dead one are in prayer around and saying their good byes. As they do so the priests all pray for Mizu-O to take the body of the parted, and slowly it vanishes from existence. All are dismissed.

Coming of Age Ceremony

Time Held: When a young one seeks to become an adult.

Who Attends: The High Priest (ess)

How its Held: The day of the ceremony the child in question wears ceremonial robes in color with the station they seek to obtain (Priest/Red, Creator/Blue, Killer/Black and Nobility/White). They meet with the High Priest (ess) in the Temple of Mizu-O which is undersea, where the child is cocooned and brought into a meditative state where Mizu-O himself gives the child a trial of mind, heart and soul to enter adulthood. When it is completed the child tears free from the cocoon and is given their foci by the High Priest (ess).

God's Light

Time Held: Season of Storms, Second full moon.

Who Attends: The High Priest (ess)

How its Held: Similar to fourth of July, the Nephites go to witness a massive lightening storm that happens annually for them as a gift from Mizu-O to remind them of his love and presence. It is a family day, and one of relaxation and rejoicing.
