What is known...
He was raised in France and schooled all over Europe. Young and bright-eyed, he had a gift for the medical field, however no one took him seriously. He was accused of cheating on several occasions through his studies. Without evidence, he wasn't removed from his education, but the professors and lead men and women of the medical field in Europe kept their eye on him. He met Simon while the man was still in his last few years of schooling. They became friends over being 'nerds' and often misunderstood. Where Simon had the inkling that his friend was a natural psychic on some level, he kept it quite. In his last year of graduation and first year after his life went down hill. He was not accepted to any facilities because of his 'too shiny reputation'. Becoming a 'failure' caused his mother and father to not only turn against him but actively abuse him. Having only one friend to turn to, he wrote to Simon about the situation. It wasn't a plea for help but a last desperate effort to find some support in the world before he chose suicide. Simon felt the intentions of his friend through the letter. Not wiling to lose another friend he paid for him to relocate to his mansion home where he took him as his personal physician and in house medical specialist. He also garnered him a job as a general surgeon in the local hospital.
