History
Karter's parents were killed in a car accident when he was 7. Shortly after the family took him in and the Don himself made a deal with him. Ray, his middle son, was a lonely child because his brothers hated him. If Karter would be a good friend to Ray then the Don would personally see to all of his needs. Karter accepted. It helped that he really liked Ray, who was fun and energetic, and the two have been friends since.

After the big falling out with the brothers after Cerec's decline in health, Karter has been on his gaurd watching his friend and looking out for political and literal attacks on him. Sadly he was out with a pretty lady the night that an assassin caught up with Ray...
