Psychology Jared is a mellow person, and in fact through trauma has disassociated his emotions. He is not emotionless, he just has a hard time ramping up joy, care, and other positive feelings. He clings to those who seem to honestly care for him and discards the rest of the world. Where he is a murdering psychopath in his own right he would break the world to save a friend.

History
Jared lived the life of a cleaner, meaning he cleaned up after criminals did their business. After a hit was done, or a family murdered he was sent to hide the evidence and clean the place. This gave him quite a difficult time wanting to connect to positivity. Slowly his oppressed and grotesque place in life eroded away to him wanting to do something about it. He didn't want to be the underdog or yes-man any more. He wanted his own power. He wanted to break away from the North Star. He took a leap of faith when he ran into the group of synthetic psychics. Using his blood alchemy he added their neurological pathways to his own. This equivalently gave him their abilities.

He went on a rampage after his success. Going through both Shelton's laboratories and the Giovanni group. Despite all the power he gained, and his ability to break away (which only caused him to fight for his life constantly) he was not satisfied. He wanted the core power that all these psychics came from. He wanted Unlucky Six. The undead child gave him his opportunity but at the cost of losing some grip on his own body. Unlucky Six constantly attempts to take control of Jared, limited Jared's actual use of his stolen psychic abilities since it encourages Six' strength.

He was taken in by Chale, much to the Giovanni's dismay. Finding a friend in Chale and Jennifer (and Mana was growing on him) he stayed to help out. However the more powerful Six became the more he realized his time with them was short.
