Culture Fun
Does anyone have a preference on what cultures they like to play in CoA? You know, between Aetherian, Roma, Ryuko and Keise. (Am I missing one?)
I really like the Roma. Something about their freeward gypsy ways and the way they’re a tight-knit family with issues appeals to me. They can piss each other off, but I get the feeling if an outsider messes with them, they ALL come down on you. They remind me of something of a mafia really. I always thought it’d be funny if they had some sort of pizzeria and ran, I dunno, a mob business out of the back of that, lol.
And it’s just fun to yell at the “Gaje” all day long…but I guess that’s just with Aurelei…

Hehe, I love the Keise, even though it’s a pian to right “it” all the time. I just love the clothing and the whole steampunk vive.

You are missing the Phaira now.
As far as my favorite race goes… Admittedly I hate the Roma. They are all a bunch of disney renditions of gypsies from freakin’ “The Hunchback of Notredame”.
My favorite at the moment goes to a race not even in play yet. No not the Phairans but after Prince of Persia I’m sure I’ll love them for six months.

There is another race that isn’t in play yet? Damn.
I’m actually going to go with the Ryuko. They actually frustrate me to no end, and I think that is why they are my favorite.

@Spyder, Hmm, I’ll have to respectfully disagree. Luckily I don’t see the Roma hanging out with any hunchbacks, nor singing in an underground sewer or even having festivals (admittedly however, I love the soundtrack to that movie). Plus they’re a lot darker skintone-wise, hehe. I see them with the potenial to do whatever they wish and I love that freedom!
I did forget the Phaira, but I can’t count because they haven’t started yet! ^^
@Heather, I’ll be delving into my first Ryuko soon, excited to see how that goes!

Gotta say my favorite is the ryuko… but I’m a HARDCORE sucker for asian themes. Leave me in an asian RP and I run wild, providing the setting is somewhat relative to actual asian cultures.

Well since they are the only race that I play, I guess my favorite would be the Aetherians. I read a lot of historical romance novels, and have watched one soap opera for many years. I love drama and intrigue, which relates well to the high borne society.
@ Heather, I tried my hand at playing a ryuko for a short time, and it fustrated me too. Unfortunately for me it had the opposite effect and I quickly became disinterested in the tLoD.
The other races look very fun though, but I am not the type of player that just makes characters so I can play that race. There has to be some other motivation behind the character, otherwise I never connect with them. I’ve been rping so long with Demi I think she knows when I really like a character and will keep them from game start to end (like Alcyone in WoFN).
